Here is a glance of our activities in the past five months:
Prayer and Worship Service:
North York Sunday Worship Service: Every Sunday a group of Afghans
and Iranians join our worship service in person, and online, where we enjoy
a time of prayer, praise, worship, hearing the Word of God, and fellowship.
Praise God that we are growing in numbers as well as in faith. Visitors are
welcomed, please let your Afghan, Tajik, and Iranian friends know about
the worship service that is held every Sunday @ 7:00 pm
Prayer Meeting (Scarborough): Every Friday @ 7:00 pm we meet for a
time of prayer at this location in Scarborough. Our plan is to convert this
prayer meeting into a women evangelical meeting, where women from our
church get a chance to invite their friends for a time of prayer and fellowship.
We believe that relationship is essential in the Muslim ministry, so this
prayer meeting will help many women to know the Lord, and to grow our
ministry. If you know any Afghan, Iranian, or Tajikistani women interested
in such meetings in this area please let us know.
Worship Meeting (Mississauga): Saturday @ 7pm is a time of home fellowship
for few of us, where we gather in our home for a time worship and
prayer. This home fellowship is considered as the base of our ministry for
Afghans, which is very important for us. We are still looking for a free
meeting place so that we can move our worship from our home to a church
building. Please let us know if you know any free space in this area.
Online Ministry:
Online Global Worship Service: With the help of our two affiliated
churches in India and Turkey, we lead the Online Worship Service every
Sunday at 12:00 pm, where hundreds of Afghans and Iranian from all
around the world join us for a time of worship and fellowship. This ministry
is one of the main sources of receiving solid teachings, and Christ-centered
fellowship to many who are looking for such opportunity. Please introduce
any seeker or believers to us, who wants to join this online service.
Systematic Theology Class: It is great to see that the number of our students
has grown from 24 to 54 in the past 3 months. The classes are watched
in different home fellowships inside and outside Afghanistan, and there are
new students joining us every week. Please introduce to us any believers
who is looking for such classes.
Satellite TV Programs: Every Tuesday and Thursday, we have a one hour
programs in Dari and Pashto programs that are broadcasted through
satellite, 29 TV boxes, and social media such as Facebook and Youtube. All
programs are also available on the ABNSAT website, there is also an APP
(ABNSAT—Afghani), and people can also have access to our programs
through podcast. There is a 80% increase in our views.
Family Day Program
It was our first time that all our congregation from Bowmanville
to Waterloo gathered as one family to celebrate Family Day,
where we had a blessed time of worship, prayer, praise, and fellowship
over dinner. Sixty of our members from Canada, and
100 online viewers from our affiliated churches from India, Turkey,
and Abu Dhabi attended to this program.
Nowroz Outreach Event
Nowroz (Persian New Year) is one of the most important occasions
in Afghanistan, Iran, and Tajikistan. Our church used this
occasion to reach out to the Afghan-Iranian community; we conducted
a special event to get to know new members of the community,
and to build up relationship with them on March 19th.
It was really encouraging for us to see though we only invited
110 people, but 170 people showed up to the event. This event
helped us to grow a relationship with the community, and it
gives us opportunity to share our faith with them.
Good Friday and Easter Special Program
As these two occasions are very important for Christian believers,
therefore, our church decided to celebrate the occasions
through praise, worship, and fellowship, as well as to give a
chance to our close Muslim friends hear the Gospel. There were
about 30 Muslim friends who joined our congregation to celebrate
Easter and Good Friday on April 17th. First, we celebrated
Good Friday where Lord’s Support was served to believers,
and later we had our Easter program where our Muslim friends
also joined us. It was a great time of worship and fellowship.
Special Program for Women
As part of our ministry’s strategy is to grow our women and
youth ministries, the first step to implement our action plan was
to start a separate online prayer meeting for women in February
2022. This initiative was welcomed by our church members,
and then the women fellowship decided to have a cultural outreach
event for their Muslim friends. On May 21st, the event
was arranged by Christian women for their Muslim friends,
where about 100 women and children from Afghanistan, Iran,
and Tajikistan attended to the event. The program had two
parts; in the first half, there was prayer, a message from
the Bible, and brief introduction of our activities, and in the
second half there was a time of fellowship, dinner, music,
and dancing.
Refugee Sponsorship
Great News - Starting Youth Ministry:
We praise God that for the first time our church was able to start a youth ministry
only with the help of 10 newcomer kids. There are 16 kids aged 13 to 18 who
meet every Sunday for a time of fellowship and learning. There are also bimonthly
activities where they enjoy a time of sports, picnic, games, and other
activities. The youth group helps us with all of our outreach events, which is a
great encouragement for us. Please let us know if you have any Afghan, Iranian,
or Tajik kid who is looking for such opportunity.
Afghan Believers are facing Grave Danger:
Afghanistan is no more a safe place only for Christians but also for any open
minded person who do not believe in the teachings, values, and actions of
Taliban. However, it is the worst place in the planet for Afghan Christians,
where they are already sentenced to death by the religion of the country, and
have no rights. There are some groups and circles who are trying to expose the
identity of Afghan Christians who live inside the country. Many believers have
had to move to new hide outs inside or outside the country because of this issue.
Please pray for them.
Financial Assistance to 100 families inside the Country:
Since the beginning of crisis in Afghanistan in August 2021, we praise God and
thanks you for making it possible to send one time financial support to more 100
families, and monthly support to 40 families. It was because of your prayers and
support that these believers and their families could have enough to eat,
strength to move from one place to another to save their lives. Please pray for
them.
Sponsoring Afghan Persecuted Christians
Praise God that with the help of YOU, we have been able to sponsor 32
Afghan Christian families from Abu Dhabi, India, Turkey, and Tajikistan.
16 Applications are already filed, and 16 more applications are submitted
for review that will be filed soon. We are expecting 2 families to
arrive in Canada in June, 2022. Please pray for all applications.
275 Afghan believers at the Abu Dhabi Refugee Camp:
As you know, with the help of our partners we evacuated hundreds of believers
from Afghanistan to Abu Dhabi, where they live in a refugee
camp. Please keep them in your prayers, we and our partner are trying to
find a third country for them where they can move permanently.
54 Afghan believers in Islamabad, Pakistan:
With the help of our partner organization we were able to rescue 54 Afghan believers
from Afghanistan to Pakistan. Praise God that they got their visas to
Brazil, and they will be moving to Brazil soon. Please pray for their exit visas.
