2014 has been a year full of turmoil and political unrest. Pandemic diseases and the evil force has been spread unceasingly. Even in Canada cannot be shielded from its influence. It’s only by God’s mercy that we were able to renew our strength, face the challenges of the world and live out a peaceful, joyful and satisfying life.

By His grace, 2014 has been an important year for ACEM to establish different ministries.

PMI-P.E.A.C.E. Missions Institute: In January 2014, the first began. Enrolment by brothers and sisters from various member churches that has a burden for world-wide mission. According to curriculum, first class will graduate in June 2015.

Church Health Conference: The first English conference was held in March at 105 Gibson Centre. It was led by more than 20 pastors. Brothers and sisters from various churches responded enthusiastically, learned and exchanged ideas from different backgrounds.

Appreciation Night: It was a bond -building and love- fill up. Due to financial and other constraints, it was cancelled for the previous 3 years. This year, with generous donation by church members, it was held in February. Once again, we were able to share in the happy spirit of ACEM.

Continuing the ACEM Spirit: For close to 40 years, Rev. John Kao, our founder, had diligently led church planting. We have collected his writings about church planting and published a book in time for his 1st death anniversary in March. We pledge to work together and continue his work of church planting.

In April, June and September, we have ordained a total of 5 pastors. It’s a new record for any one year in our history. Those ordained included RHCCC’s Rev. William Yip, Rev. Kin-Wah Ho, Rev. Julian Wong; Milliken CCC’s Rev. Luke Xie and Rev. Anthony Lo of West Toronto CCC.

Pastoral Fellowship: That’s when the pastors of different churches meet for a time of fellowship. This year we have met 6 times to share our experiences and prayed for one another. It’s beneficial to all attendees.

In September and October, we have sponsored joint senior fellowship between churches, and held multi-media competition, and 36th mission conference. With the co-operation of brothers and sisters from different churches, they were very successful. ACEM also nurtures brothers and sisters of all ages and also sponsored activities like ‘Friends of Jabez’ and ‘Marriage Enrichment Retreat’.

In September, Rev. Frank Graham of Billy Graham crusade spoke at the Festival of Hope. Many Toronto and area churches eagerly participated. The evangelical meeting brought revival to GTA, many come to Christ and the glory of God was manifested in the community.

This year ACEM updated the constitution according to the government’s new guideline for non-profit organizations. Our ministry director Sam Fok rested with the Lord in June.

In my personal life, I can see God’s abundant blessing. Our son Silas was married in April in Vancouver and held a thanksgiving ceremony at RHCCC in May. They serve together in Guelph among the students. Our younger daughter with her social work expertise, have stepped out to missionary work in Cambodia in October. As parents, we totally support their new lives and area of service. Older daughter is still in Toronto doing education work. I, with wife and mother are living in senior apartment. The place is nice, fully equipped and with God’s protection, it’s purely grace.

2014 has been a year filled with God’s grace. Perhaps you can pray for us in our future ministry, please visit ACEM web site and face book at for ministry updates.
