1. ACEM Missions Committee (Special announcement)
Our ACEM Missions Fund is used to support many missionaries, several mission organizations, subsidize seminary students’ tuition and pastoral internships in ACEM churches, as well as sending short term mission teams that minister all over the world. As COVID started in 2020, almost all of our field visitation (short term mission) ministries
came to a halt, as countries closed their doors
to control the epidemic. This has also affected our mission giving. The 2022 mission donation has reduced across a majority of ACEM churches, when compared to the pre-COVID (2018) giving. In 2023, we gladly see a resurgence of field visitation ministries in every ACEM church. However, if the missions donation trend of ACEM churches in 2023 remains similar to 2022, we will foresee a 20%-25% shortfall of funds by this Fall. Up to the end of June, our cash cushion has reduced to less than 1 month (our practice is to keep a 2-month cash cushion). ACEM Missions is committed to continue the support for our missionaries, missions organizations, and other missions related ministries. We would like to ask our brothers and sisters to pray for all of our missions work and the financial situation of ACEM Missions.
2. The 45th ACEM Missions Conference – Save the Date!
After three years, the ACEM Missions Conference is back to in-person meeting on October 28 (Sat) at Richmond Hill Christian Community Church (9670 Bayview Avenue, RH). There will be a Cantonese message in the afternoon and a Mandarin message in the evening by Rev. James Lai of CNEC. A “Missions Expo” will showcase recent field visitation teams in both Chinese and English during the day. Come to learn about the mission workers’ sharing at the “Missions FAQ” (English) while connecting with other ACEM friends whom you haven’t met since Covid! Stay tuned for more upcoming details.
