In Memoriam
Rev. Dr. John Kao
Dr. John Kao, ACEM’s beloved Founder and Adviser Emeritus, went to be with the Lord on March 24, 2013 at Mackenzie Health in Toronto, Canada. He was 79.
Rev. Kao responded to God’s call by devoting his life as a church planter and a maker of disciples for Jesus Christ in Southeast Asia and Toronto. In his later years he served Chinese churches worldwide by training workers for the Kingdom and by advancing theological education. He left behind a wonderful legacy of exemplary service and faithfulness.
For many years Rev. Kao had suffered poor health. Before and after undergoing kidney transplant he received frequent dialysis and blood transfusion. His health began to deteriorate after his hospitalization last year due to pneumonia. He fought his ailing condition courageously and accepted different treatments before finally succumbing to degenerating health condition, with his wife Esther, sons and grandchildren by his side. We are saddened by our loss but take comfort in the knowledge that he is with our Saviour.
