The committee for this joint memorial service regrets to announce the passing of our respected Rev. Dr. Hay-Chun Maak on January 26, 2021 in Hong Kong, and his entering into the glory of God’s everlasting Kingdom.
Rev. Dr. Hay-Chun Maak was a faithful servant of God and a dedicated Christian leader greatly used by God to bless many Chinese churches around the world through a life devoted to ministry and spreading the gospel.
During the early years of ministry, Rev. Maak and Mrs. Maak had gone three times for overseas missions to Southeast Asia where they promoted evangelism, planted churches, built up disciples, and cultivated countless kingdom workers. After retirement, Rev. Maak continued to serve and train Christian leaders. He wrote a series of books for church leadership and served as General Director of CCCOWE with the vision to promote an evangelistic movement that fulfills the Great Commandment of Jesus throughout the world. In his later years, he served as a consulting pastor, partook in the establishment of the Canadian Chinese School of Theology, and actively participated in local and overseas missions to strengthen churches and followers of Christ around the world.
Rev. Maak was a spirit-filled preacher, disciple-equipping mentor, and a pastor who cared for many believers, and was highly respected by everyone. We mourn the passing of Rev. Dr. Hay-Chun Maak who had set the example of what it means to be a faithful servant of God.
